Job Description

Under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor assist in achieving departmental goals, using hand and power tools to apply necessary material to achieve wall preparation and painting objective.

  • Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance and direction for project helpers. Coordinate and assign specific job duties. Ensure quality, quantity, and thoroughness of helper assigned duties.
  • Interpret and clarify work order request for all types of painting duties. Evaluate to ensure requests do not violate regulatory codes. Respond to requests with time frame of completion and cost estimate.
  • Order material according to specifications. Interpret blueprints, sketches, to determine specific material list. Evaluate inventory and re-order necessary material as needed.
  • Assist staff with related work request to accurately determine specific needs. Draw rough sketches to assure clear understanding of request. Accurately measure items or areas in order to request specific amount of material(s) to perform a specific job.
  • Use hand and power tools to apply material as specified by product recommendation for a quality end product. Properly apply all types of material related to sheetrock, wall covering and painting material properly. Use equipment properly to prep area in need of wall covering or painting.
  • Provide advice, information and assistance for occupancy on proper color and materials. Provide updated material and color chip samples. Recommend to supervisor proper application of material.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance

  • Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience as a full-time painter

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $22.50 - $37.00 per hour for the role of Painter.
