We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Researcher to join the Division of Cancer Predisposition within the Oncology Department. This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to support innovative research initiatives that advance understanding of the germline genetic factors underlying predisposition to cancer and primary immunodeficiency. The individual in this role will perform a variety of basic laboratory research tasks determined by the scope of the particular research project/study. Additionally, the Senior Researcher will perform tasks related to the research project independently, but within specific guidelines which are subject to review by the supervisor and/or other research staff.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop and perform procedures using established or modified techniques/protocols
Implement new but established protocols without individual training
Troubleshoot experiments and identify anomalies in own data
Consistently monitors current literature and trends within the field
Accurately record experimental procedures and data
Prepare and report results/ data leading to posters, presentations, or publications
Provide guidance to less-experienced team members
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the department and institution.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific area is required.
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of research experience is required.
No prior experience is required with a Master’s degree.
Working knowledge and understanding of underlying concepts and principles of experimental design.
Experience with the most widely used techniques used in the home laboratory.
Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $26.00 - $45.50 per hour for the role of Senior Researcher – Cancer Predisposition.
